It was almost time to go home. For our last day in Tokyo, we stayed in Ueno until we left for the airport.
I've been to Ueno many times, enjoying the food, the shopping, and the convenient transportation. All below are my experience in Ueno:

The advantage of staying in Ueno is its accessibility. I packed my luggage and left them at the hotel front desk, then headed to Ueno Keijo Station to buy a same-day Skyliner ticket to the NRT airport. Then I had breakfast at Ueno Ame-Yokochō, shopped for souvenirs and animate products. After lunch, I returned to the hotel to pick up our luggage and take the Skyliner.
When I went to station to buy Skyliner tickets, I tried out the accessible route, which is no up and down staircase and estimate the time it will take to bring our luggage from the hotel to the station. Then I can well estimate the walking time and put us at ease.
This sushi restaurant opens at 10:30 AM, so let’s eat first.
Miura Misaki Ko is quite popular in Tokyo. With only a dozen seats, it is recommended to arrive 15 minutes before open for queue. I enjoyed the quality of the ingredients, and rice was sticky and delicious.
I've been to Ueno many times, but this time I spent more time walking around Ameyokocho.
There are many places selling jerseys and sneakers in Ueno. The prices are a little higher than in Hong Kong, but they have a wide variety of styles and colors, especially J-League jerseys, that cannot be easily found in Hong Kong.
Japan Exclusive - The price of them are not really high. The Sakura sneakers were eye catching.
There is a 5-level store - HARD OFF HOBBY OFF, I found this quite interesting.
This five-story store is very special. The top floor is anime-related products, and the third floor is called "JUNK".
JUNK looked like a repairing center of audio games machines. I describe this as "a museum of Japanese video game culture". You can find a wide variety of video game player - Nintendo Famicoms, PlayStations, and quirky gaming accessories on this floor—I find it quite fascinating.
I bought one back many year ago purely for playing BIOHAZARD, and it was recently released on second hand platform at a very low price. It turns out there's still a good deal if you find the right place.
Ueno is a vibrant place, boasting cherry blossom viewing at Ueno Park. There is a zoo. You can enjoy different kinds of foods in Ameyokocho. This is also a place for souvenirs and hauls shopping.
Meanwhile, there are only 2 shopping malls at Ueno - 0101 and Pacro_ya.
Pacro_ya is located near Okachimachi JR Station. The mall mainly sells mid-range brands. Some of them seem to be brands unique to Japan. Overall it was not so impressive but can have a look if you have time.
When we visited Ueno last year in 2024, my wife mainly shopped at 0101, while the kids and I went to the nearby toy store - Ueno Yamashiroya. As an anime fans, I had to make a last-minute trip to Yamashiroya.

Have a very quick lunch and we are ready to go home.
The train to the airport was at 4:00 PM, so we had plenty of time to wander around Ueno.
Compared to other trips to Tokyo, whether staying in Ikebukuro or Shinjuku, staying in Ueno make me easier to go to airport, even though I took 2 big luggage by myself.
