Bangkok Trip 23/24 (9) - Cheap and Localized Products - Platinum Fashion Mall

Due to our reservation for buffet lunch in Copper Buffet, our itinerary was planned mainly in Chit Lom area.

Chit Lom is a very good place for shopping. There are many different sizeable shopping mall, such as Central World, Gaysorn Village, Big C Supermarket. 

There are many different kinds of goods. You can really find what you need - whether it is cheap or expensive,  clothes or food.

Meanwhile, Platinum Fashion Mall is the one I highly recommend to have a look.

The last time I went to Platinum was in 2011. I had the impression that it was a mall that looked simple but had many exquisite products.

It's about ten minutes' walk from the BTS station, but it's not difficult to walk over the R-overpass.

(The two spots in red circle are Chit Lom BTS and Platinum Fashion respectively, the one in green is Graysorn Village, and the one in blue is Big C Supermarket).

There was a big improvement of internal environment in the mall, compared with 11 years before.

There are 3 zones in mall, around 1-2 hours should be spent.



Dense Shops, but it is good for shopping.



There are many styles of clothes, including traditional Thai clothes, local designs, and many different styles.
 
The quality of Thai made clothing was good. (I remember traveling to Thailand with my father for the first time 30 years ago. I bought a T-shirt at a night market. The words and pictures still remain in color now after I had washed and wore many many times!)


20-bahts shop.

Drinks - 20 to 40 bahts.

My wife was concentrated to buy clothes. There was a crowd in mall but the overall shopping experience was very good. There is a currency exchange store - Super Rich inside the mall. (At least 2-3 Superrich can be found in Chit Lom area and the rate is good, so you can spend without any hesitation.)


Just sit down to have a coffee. Waiting for my wife.....

Luggage can be bought in Platinum Fashion Mall. I have no idea about their quality but the price is cheap.

The opening hour of Platinum Fashion Mall is 9:00 am, a bit earlier than other shopping mall. Therefore, it is highly recommended to include this in your AM itinerary.

I have a good jogging in early morning and shopping in Platinum Fashion Mall. I think I am ready for a big meal!
