In the past, I had to travel abroad during my children’s school holidays, so most of my trips to Tokyo were in midsummer. Therefore, we have never seen cherry blossoms or Ueno Park.
On April 9, 2025, we finally fulfilled our dream of cherry blossoms viewing.
The cherry blossoms in Tokyo first bloomed in mid-March and reached full bloom on April 2nd. We just arrived in Tokyo in early April, so we were a little late.
Walking into Ueno Park, you will soon enter this famous cherry blossom avenue. Both blossoms and people were more than expected. The cherry blossoms are still bright.
Cherry blossom viewing is free and great activity.
Every cherry tree has its own "supporters".
I estimate that it will be more beautiful when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, and there will be more crowded. But at this moment, we both felt extremely happy as we lingered under the cherry trees.
Suddenly there was a fresh spring breeze, and cherry blossoms felt like drizzle along with the spring breeze. It was very nice.
The cherry blossom scenery at Shinobazu-no-ike Pond. is also very beautiful, so after we walked along the Cherry Blossom Avenue, we headed towards the pond that is just next to the avenue.
There were some stalls selling food.
We took photos as we walked and it we were at the another side of pond. The pink color on the map is Cherry Blossom Avenue - this cherry blossom viewing trip took us about half an hour.In Ueno park, there are some historical statues and temple buildings. It is actually a place worth visiting even without the cherry blossoms. I think it is good to have a relaxing jog along Cherry Blossom Avenue in the early morning. (Unfortunately my right knee was still recovering.)
After the viewing activity, it was time for us to go to Tsukiji Market for a late breakfast.
Based on the guide of Google map, Yuya Station (METRO) is the closest station to Ueno park, so I didn't go back to Ueno station and headed directly from Yuya to Tsukiji.
No matter what time you come here, it is always crowded.
Tsukiji Market is a must-visit place almost every time we travel to Tokyo, because my wife always thinks that the sashimi at Tsukiji Market is the most delicious.

After a delicious sashimi meal, it was time to visit Tokyo station. There was one spot that I requested to go for Animation - Tokyo Character Street.
