Tokyo Again 2025 (8) - Karuizawa Day Trip (Part 4 - Day and Night......Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza)

 

My wife loves shopping, so we plan to go shopping at the outlet mall before boarding in the past Japan trips. This outlet activity was scheduled a bit earlier.

It was already 2pm when we returned to Karuizawa Station.


Karuizawa is a relaxing place, even though shopping outlet. The shopping plaza is next to the station.


There are many many brands - ranging from luxury brands to casual wear. And restaurant and convenient stores, not need to worry about eat.



There weren’t many people there, and overall a bit cheaper than the same brand in Hong Kong.




In the middle of the many outlet stores is a fresh lawn with a KIDS PARK in the middle.
It's a bit like a park in Okinawa.


Let me come closer to have a look at this.


There are rope nets, scaffolding, swings, and apparently a zipline in the playground. 700 yen for the first 30 minutes seemed a bit expensive, but it was nice that one adult in the group got in for free. You and your kids can spend 1,200 yen at KIDS PARK for an hour, then have a dessert at the outlet restaurant. Ladies can spend an hour or two for shopping without any worries. Isn’t this a good idea?
 


I strolled on the grass with my black coffee. walk between the cool breeze outside and the heat in the shops; I wandered among the children and the tourists. I felt like an outsider but I felt relaxed.

Actually, I also bought Acis running shoes and some casual clothes. But it would be a bit time consuming to come just to buy a pair of running shoes.


It was 18:30 before i knew this, but seem we had just just completed half of the outlet.

"Don't yell for leaving...."

"I am not pushing you but the shops will close at 19:00 so you to be hurry to buy what you need."

The outlets at night, lights among the trees all lit up, and they are very beautiful. This can be considered an extra benefit for tourists who insist on shopping until the last minute.

What are wonderful day!


(About one-tenth of the above haul were come from outlets.)

At this time, I looked at the timetable for the Shinkansen back to Ueno - the next one is 19:40

A bit cool during night time but no worry - it would be fine when we get on the train.

There are not many passengers returning to Ueno at night, so it is not difficult to find two seats. According to my observation, majority of passengers are local Japanese.

19:40 - Free Seat is good - not need to catch up any train schedule


Back in Ueno, I put aside my luggages and had a reasonably priced seafood grilled meal, completing the second day's itinerary.



(This is a good restaurant. I’ll talk more about the food later.)

Pack the luggage, empty out one, and plan for another shopping tomorrow.
