Bangkok Trip 23/24 (12) - Hotel: Grand Centre Point Terminal 21


There are many hotel options in Bangkok, accessible, competitive prices, high quality and good services,

This is the check-out day, I got up a little early and went to the hotel for a walk. Learn more about the hotel that I have stayed for 4 days in 2023 - GRANDE CENTRE POINT TERMINAL 21
Facilities Floor


You can have overview to ASOK area from the pool. However, since there is a considerable distance between the pool edge and the building, so the view by the pool is not very good.
The fitness room is spacious.


Children play room

The jacuzzi inside the changing room with massage function. It was a good experience to have a dip bath.

Let’s first talk about the advantages of Grand Center Point Terminal 21:

1. Convenient Location - located at ASOK and Sukhumvit stations belonging to two different railways, BTS and MRT can already solve the traffic problems of most tourist spots. In addition, the hotel is located above the popular shopping mall TERMINAL 21. It is easier to go in and out even amid heavy rain and bad weather. 

2. Good Customer Services - All the staff is kind and helpful. The one in lobby even remember which floor you were staying. When you can for services, the response if fast and effective.

3. All snack inside the room is free, and there is mirco-wave oven.

For those point that can be improved:

1. The supply of hot water was unstable - it could be suddenly too hot and cold.

2. No USB charger equipped - The power supply are Thai type so adapter should be used for charging. I expected that USB chargers should be provided in a 5-stars hotel like Grand.


3. No main light switch - you have to go around the room to turn off all the lights before sleep.

Overall, Grand Centre Point Terminal 21 is a bit old. Service and experience is good. 
Therefore, we tried to stay in another hotel in our BKK trip in 2024.

Bangkok Trip 23/24 (11) - Couple SPA 2023 (Health Land Bangkok - Natural Reviver)

  

Just a massage was definitely not enough for my dear who wanted to relax in Bangkok. It is a good idea to have a SPA treatment after whole day shopping.

I am not qualified to comment SPA quality as I seldom experience this. This is the third time for me so I just shared how I have experienced this.

The room for COUPLE SPA is relatively limited, so making an appointment in advance is a must. 
When making appointment online, you have to set a date/time and pay in advance. 
Therefore, we phoned to HEALTH LAND after arrival for appointment, which is Tuesday.
No prepaid is needed for phone reservation. Finally we selected 6:30 PM on Wednesday, which is the last time period we can select.

The staff asked me whether it was alright to change rooms after taking a bath at Jacuzzi. 
I thought I have no choice as it was a last-minute reservation.

It is very important to have SPA treatment in a company with goodwill, so you will be safe and really be relaxed. HEALTHLAND is quite famous in Bangkok, and the prices are relatively affordable. The package we booked is SPA JACUZZI - Natural Reviver (PACKAGE FOR 2 GUESTS). It costs 9,000 BAHT (approximately HKD 2,000) for two people, which is the "the most luxurious level" on the price list, but not expensive comparatively other big brand.


The SPA treatment in Let Relax is limited. There were 4 options for treatment including Jacuzzi.
In Hong Kong, I believe we have to pay 5 times charge for similar treatment.

It took about 5-6 minutes walking from GRAND CENTRA, go around to TERMINAL 21 and you will find HEALTHLAND just behind the mall. I suspected that I was going the wrong way as it was old resident area...until I saw the big sign which was easy-to-recognize.

Walking into the lobby, there was a place selling aromatherapy oils or SPA-related items in front of the reception desk. The side hall was full of customers from different countries waiting for different kinds of treatment.


The layout of HEALTHLAND was in a simple style. 

"Mr MAK - 2 persons for Jacuzzi" The receptionist led us to the first floor.
I walked into a large room. There is a separate toilet and shower room, a table and seating for two Welcome Tea set. Undoubtedly, the JACUZZI filled with water is in the middle of the room.

The servicer poured some liquid into the pool and then left. During this time, we had 30 minutes bathing time before enjoying the SPA treatment. It was a good experience to cleanse the body and soothe the mind, then we were ready for SPA.

The fragrant bath was equipped with massage function. It was very comfortable to lay in it. 30 minutes is too short for me.



After bath, we move to another room for SPA treatment.

This service package mainly includes body scrub + Thai massage + Facial. According to my experience, I would fall into a deep sleep, but probably I have slept too much after being in Bangkok for a few days, so I keep wake up in the whole treatment.

(I have to shower after scrubbing, but there is only one shower in the room. I think It is quite unreasonable for couple.)

The skill of massage therapists were good and their performance is professional.

They did not chat with each others during serving. The only drawback is that there is a little noise from the conversations of Hong Kong people walking in the corridor. 


"Another people will come for facial," the therapist said.

"I think she means you have to give her tips after massage," I reminded my dear.

There is no standard for tip amount. According to my experience, Thai people will not ask for tips actively. $100 bahts is only about 22 Hong Kong dollars so I feel free to give her $100 bahts for thankfulness.

(It is recommended that you check whether you have enough notes before going for treatment. I didn’t realize that there was notes on hand. Finally, I ask the therapists to help me bring my $1000 notes to reception and broke this into $100 notes.)

After facial treatment, it was nearly 11:00 when we returned to the lobby, and there were not many customers left. I am not experienced enough to evaluate the quality of HEALTH LAND SPA. I just think it is a very rare experience for two people to enjoy a few hours of quietness in body, mind and soul together.

Time flew by and we spent our last night in Bangkok in such a relaxed state.

Bangkok Trip 23/24 (10) - COPPER BEYOND BUFFET Bangkok - Gaysorn Amarin - Reservation and Experience)







When I planned the trip, my wife gave me some "must-do" events and I must include these in my itinerary. Copper Buffet, which is quite famous among Hong Kong tourists, is one of them. 
The first Copper is located in Sense Pinklao, that spend 50 minutes from Asoke. The one in Graysorn Village is new. After our shopping in Platinum, we arrive just in time.

(In Graysorn, mainly luxurious brands, but they could not impress us so much….)

My wife's friend had been here before and she recommended her to try the cheapest "all you can eat set - Baht 1499". Undoubtedly we can try more kinds of food but it would be wasteful as the cheapest one is more than enough. 
It was a special experience to reserve the table because the cheapest set couldn't be found via official website, but this can be found in LINE platform.

I seldomly use LINE in Hong Kong, and I have spent some time to find out this code.

If you still cannot find this set, you can try to add COPPER to be your LINE Friend.

If still cannot.....let free register as a membership of Hungry Club. Then you can find.

If still cannot, please give up as I think you are "inherent" rich.

I planned to reserve August 5 but I can only see the availability in late July. It is not difficult to make reservation especially during weekdays.



After reservation, you will receive a confirmation email sent from Hungry Club, enclosed with entry barcode. Please be advised that the table can only be held for 15 minutes even through you have paid....


We went to Copper, register first and wait for entry.




After we put our luggage in the area nearby the entrance, a table number was assigned to us. The table number were used for make-to-order food.

The food in the buffet is mainly divided into two categories: the first type is the traditional buffet food that you can line and pick. Another type is the food is Make-to-order. The staff will deliver this directly to your table once this made.


(What sushi do you want? Sir....I am not good in English so simply said - All.)

The meat rice noodle is delicious. 


This looked like a coconut but actually this was pasta.















There is only Taiwanese milk tea but no Thai tea.


(The ORDER MENU is made-to-order, and the basic 1499 buffet also includes all the foods in the picture: it is probably impossible to try all the above.)





Oysters, seafood, sushi sashimi, all kinds of steaks, skewers, authentic Thai curry, Tom Yum noodle soup... a variety of salads, sushi, pasta, desserts on the order menu... The basic buffet set is enough for us.


Raw beef sashimi - Not recommended.





All above desserts were tasty.

I will recommend this buffet - the price is acceptable, the food quality is high and the location is quite accessible.

After a big meal, I would like to share our SPA experiences in Bangkok.
