Tokyo Again 2025 (13) - Prepare for Next Tokyo Trip

 A year later, I returned to this Pikachu wall.

Everything seemed the same, but the Pokemon store seemed to have moved. (I seem to have only been there a short time ago, so I don't have much of an interest in exploring anymore.)

Here’s a recap of my experience at Narita T2 last year (Written in Chinese Only):

When we go to Tokyo, we brought 2 luggage and 3 as returned.

AKIHABARA, the souvenir shop in Terminal 2, is always a must-see for tourists. Since the food and souvenirs sold at the airport are more expensive than those at Ueno or Tokyo Station, we didn't buy much. On the contrary, when we compared anime products, the prices at the airport were almost the same as those in Ueno. The only difference was that there was a small percentage tax refund for purchases over 5,000 yen in Ueno, which wasn't available at the airport.

The most popular anime and character products I bought at the airport were One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen, Super Mario, and so on. After a year, many of the products had been replaced, what a surprise for me!



I don't particularly like Gundam, but this keychain is really beautiful.

The Attack on Titan Airen was the same price as the one in Ueno, 2000 yen. So I bought one finally.


With plenty of time, we decided to have a meal at the airport. Having already tried all-you-can-eat yakiniku, sushi, soba noodles, Japanese cuisine and seafood during trip, we decided to try okonomiyaki at the airport.

The okonomiyaki was delicious, and the friendly and courteous waitstaff certainly made it better, but there was one thing I really appreciated:


This bench has a recessed area at the back, presumably for travelers to stow their backpacks.
This design show the unexpected thoughtfulness of the Japanese.

(I forgot to take a picture of the food, and instead only took a picture of this chair….)

Below are the highlight of this trip, regarding to meal.

At this moment, I received a message from the telco: "15 minutes left" in my 72-hour data roaming service. It was time to board the plane.

April 10 - 7:05 PM (The way to go home)


After returning from Tokyo, I brought home a lot of hauls, but more importantly, the good times I shared with my wife.


Having completed my fifth trip to Tokyo, I've come up with a seven-days itinerary for first-time Tokyo visitors to thank you for your support by reading. While it's not an in-depth itinerary, it would be fit for first-time Tokyo visitors.

Hotel: If you are visiting Tokyo for the first time, it is recommended to stay near Ueno.

Day 1: Landing + Hotel check-in + All-you-can-eat Japanese Wagyu Yakiniku near the hotel

Day 2: Harry Potter Studio + the Sunshine City in Ikebukuro (and shopping malls nearby)

Day 3: Shinjuku + Harajuku for shopping + Shibuya (Shibuya Sky)

Day 4: Disneyland or Disneysea - "Which one is better?" many people may ask. In my point of view, Disneysea is unique but overall I like the attractions in Disneyland more. But actually it depends on which Disney characters you like. If you like Rapunzel and Queen Elsa, there's no reason not to go to the Sea.

Day 5: Tsukiji Market + Ginza + Tokyo Station

Day 6: Kaminarimon in Asakusa + Tokyo Skytree + Akihabara

Day 7: Hotel check-out + Ueno Park + Ameya-Yokochō + Take the luggage and go to Airport

I've already experienced most of the above itineraries, so if I ever have the chance to visit Tokyo again, I think I'd definitely add a two-day trip to Lake Kawaguchiko, or visit TeamLab Borderless. etc. Tokyo is a place you never tire of.

This is the end, but it will begin again at an unpredictable time.
