It was closed to 9:00 pm after hotel check in, so there were no attractions to visit at this time. What we can do is "all-you-can-eat BBQ meal". It is one of my dear’s goals in this short trip.
Rokukasen is the most popular restaurant for Japanese BBQ, I have meal several time there and I like this restaurant very much. However, we didn't plan to go to Shinjuku in our itinerary, so it would be better to look for the one in Ueno.

There are so many all-you-can-eat yakiniku restaurants in Ueno. There are at least five or six recommended according to my online searching. Finally I chose "Gyu-Star" simply because it was the closest to APA hotel.
(It only took us 1 minute to get there from the back door of Hotel.)
We normally have to make reservations online in advance, especially for those popular restautant. However, considering the unstable arrival and customs times of flights, I guess probably we can have a table without a reservation if we go after dinner peak hour.
This restaurant is located in a secluded corner, and most of the eaters seem to be local Japanese.
There were variety shows from TV, it was a very local yakiniku restaurant but there is English menu.\
All-you-can-eat packages, and we chose the one with 59 prodcuts. In addition to barbecue, it also offers many Korean and Japanese snacks. However, there is a rule that you must order drinks here, and drinks are charged separately, which I don’t like very much.
The iPad ordering feature is pretty good, but many of the foods don't have pictures, and the category pages don't have any description. It feels like the order system is unfinished.
The wagyu beef rib and Top Rib were both delicious. And the kimchi and ramen are also impressive, I like them all very much. However, I like beef tongue , but the beef tongue here seemed to have been kept in the refrigerator for too long, and it still felt a bit hard even after grilling.
In my opinion, to try Japanese barbecue for the first time, I recommend to try Rokukasen due to this tourist-friendly and high quality. But it is also good to try else where. The nearest one may be the best option as it fit your itinerary.

Ueno became quiet after 10 o'clock. Apart from yakiniku restaurants and food shops, the only good place to go was Donki. This 24-hour store that Hong Kong people like to go, so it is very common to meet someone who can speak Cantonese in the shop,
I found many western tourists look for Godzilla products in Tokyo. The answer is Donki. It is easy to have one in tourism area.
After a whole day of itinerary, when it’s too late at night and you realize you haven’t bought souvenirs for your friends and colleagues, Donki may be a good option as it serve 24 hours. Toys, souvenirs, medicines, clothes... everything can be found. However, as for medicines, the pharmacies in Ameyokocho are a little cheaper than those in DONKI.
Don't forget to search "DONKI TOKYO DISCOUNT" online during you pay the bill. Once you found the coupon, not need to worry how to use. The Donki staff is helpful so you can give the phone to them to get the discount.
We came back to hotel at 1:00 am. "Do we still have energy enough for tomorrow long trip?" I asked myself.
