Tokyo 2024 - 7 days itinerary (Family of 4 - Attractions and Shopping Experience)

Hong Kong people are weird when traveling. They bring a lot of items when traveling -
They worried about foods, clothes or even amenities in oversea.
Meanwhile, they like buying a lot of hauls and bringing back home due to memory, special styles, lower price, many many reasons....

When my two kids grown up, more and more hauls brought back to Hong Kong. I have a practice to take a group photos for all of them after each family trip but the "workload" become more and more heavy. Fortunately there was a successor.

"Probably there is one day we need a drone to take this photo."

Let Review what we have done in this 7 days.\

Day 1: Arrival + Shinjuku

Comments: With the development of shopping and entertainment spots in other Tokyo places, it is not necessary to visit Shinjuku because you may find similar shopping mall in other areas.

However, Shinjuku is still full of shopping spots and is also a focal point for many different  countryside sightseeing and attractions, so there are still certain needs to keep this in your itinerary.

Attraction: Tokyu Kabukicho Tower
This is new and interesting attraction, but it is mainly for young people and adults.

Buying Highlights: Sports jersey in Alpen Tokyo. A very attractive place for those who love sports.

Restaurant Recommended: Rokkasen - BBQ & Shabu-shabu & Sukiyaki, All-you-can-eat. Delicious and popular restaurant in Tokyo.

Day 2: The Making of Harry Potter 十 Ueno

Comments: The Making of Harry Potter was more fun than expected, but I probably won’t be visiting again anytime soon.

On the other hand, the sightseeing, shopping and dining experiences in Ueno are all very good. I will consider staying in the Hotel in Ueno in my next Tokyo Trip.

Attraction: The Making of Harry Potter - You can refer to the link for more details:

Attraction in Ueno: Yamashiroya - You will become crazy in shopping if you love animate and comic.

Shopping Highlights: Souvenirs of Harry Potter, Japanese Animation Products, Japanese Snacks and Foods

Restaurant Recommended: Just take Japanese Food in Ameya Yokocho in Ueno.

Day 3: Disney Sea

Comments: Fantastic but crowd regardless of what season you plan to be there. And no matter how fun it is, I won't go there again in the short term. Probably the kids will be a little older and then we plan to visit Fuji-Q in our next trip.

Buying Highlights: Souvenirs' exclusive for Disney Sea, Macaron and many other foods

Day 4: Tsukiji Fish Market & Asakusa Temple & Akihabara

Tsukiji Fish Market

Comments: We went to Tsukiji Market mainly for fresh food and souvenirs, but similar purposes can be achieved in Ueno.

Shopping Highlights: Japanese Foods

Asakusa Temple

Comments: There are still many shopping streets near Asakusa Temple that we didn’t have time to walk around. In addition, the children want to experience the rickshaw pulled by handsome men. Seem there is still a certain motivation for us to visit here again.

Shopping Highlights: Japanese Foods for souvenirs, Japanese Handicrafts and many different kinds of interesting products

Akihabara

Comments: It is the first time I visited Akihabara and it was a very great experience. I think I can come several times. Anime in Japan can be innovative and nostalgic as well. Moreover, all the main shopping spots in Akihabara are concentrated and it is very convenient for tourists.

Attractions:  Animate / Hobby Paradise / Mandarake / Donki

Shopping Highlights: Many Many Many Toys and Animate Related Products.

Day 5: Joypolis - Odaiba

Comments: Unexpectedly kids loved Joypolis more than Disney Sea as they said this is indoor! Odaiba is worth for visit again. After all, I have never take a photo with big Gundam even though it is the second time I visited Odaiba.

If you are the Fans of "Attack the Titan", don't miss this attraction! You will enjoy this even though you won't understand Japanese like me.

Day 6: Ikebukuro

Comments: A place with many activities suitable for Children. I think we should spend more time in this. Hisoca Hotel is also a very good hotel. It is one of the few Tokyo hotels that I will plan to stay at again.

Attractions:  Sunshine City

Shopping Highlights: Animate, Pokemon, One Piece Store

Details for Hotel Hisoca:

Day 7: Shisui Premium Outlet / Narita Airport Terminal 2

Comments: I am not interested in Outlet, but my dear always buys the right thing there. Narita T2 has always been the last station of souvenirs, and the anime products at AKIHABARA souvenir shop are definitely the last spot for you to spend all remaining yen in your pocket.

This is my Hauls:

"Which is the better place, Tokyo or Osaka?" I asked my kids.

"Overall Tokyo is funnier but USJ is the best!" This is the final conclusion of the two young children in unison.

"Dad, I have done!"

The End - Thanks for your reading (Who will be responsible for tidying up?)
